As soon as we arrived, we were sat onto a raised stool, so that we could dip our feet into the water. My mum was a little nervous, but I got stuck in straight away. The beautician warned me that it will tickle for the first 30 seconds or so, and I must say, she wasn't lying. It is one of the weirdest feeling you can ever experience; its tickling and cringey both at the same time.
You get used to the feeling after a while and our twenty minute exfoliating session flew by quite quickly.
The result was disappointing. The tops of my feet were left pretty smooth, however, on the heel (were there is the most dry/hard skin) there didn't appear to be any difference. Apparently, the longer you keep your feet in for the more exfoliating the treatment is. However, I cannot understand how there is actually any truth in this as the garra rufa fish only suck at the surface of the dead skin. Anyway, I probably wouldn't recommend this treatment if you have quite a bit of dry skin on your feet, although the experience was a lot of fun!
This seems very interesting but I am not sure I would try it... Great post!
